Ford 2000 steering issue
|Bubba Randall||I just purchased an old Ford 2000 3 cylinder tractor. My issue is it doesnít have power steering and it turn pretty good to the left but it is very hard to steer back to the right. I really have to right it hard. I noticed that the drag link on the right side moves freely by hand but I canít budge the left drag link. Any suggestions as to whatís causing the problem?
|Terry||Hey Bubba, welcome to the SSB tractor forum.
Disconnect the drag links and jack up the front axle. Check the spindles and also wheel bearings for friction. If nothing is found, lower the front axle to put some weight on the front wheels and check again.
Also check the steering gearbox by turning the steering wheel with the links off.
