Hooked up some weight for the first time on the hydraulics (vane pump). I noticed that when i lifted the hydraulics, it would "step" up versus one smooth lift. It was somewhat choppy. Is that normal? I read elsewhere on the N series that you may need the PTO engaged for the hydraulics to lift any weight properly - is this true?

thanks guys.
