yanmar ym226d hydro-stat
| rick | HI, i saw one of these for sale.i don't think it's been beaten badly, has turf tires and no dents. tach says 200 hours but i know that can't be true.any problems with the hydro stat trans?i like the tractor and it seems to run good. his price seems good at $3000 .would it have enough power for a 5' brush hog and a 5' rototiller? any reason to be afraid of it?thanks !!

| Al | Plenty of power. Although 19 horse at the PTO doesn't sound like much, that's a diesel, and the thing has 9 forward speeds. The Powershift is bulletproof. The meter is for maintenance, not total hours. It's an export model, manuals and parts avail. Check the front drive works: put it in four (left floor lever forward), try it uphill on gravel, and see that one of the fronts spins. Check the PTO works (left side lever down, observe behind). Swing up the brake-pedal joining bar, drive, push each pedal separately and check that one rear wheel locks. See that it runs in all gears forward and back without strange noises. |
| norm | You would be much happier with 4' implements on that size tractor.

| Al | The issue is not power. If you had bought that model new with a Yanmar-supplied-for-it belly mower, it would have been a 6-footer. There are other advantages to smaller rear implements, including the ability of the hitch to lift them (and you will need to lift them). Its lifting ability when new was 816 lbs 24" aft of the points. And at that limit (tillers are heavy, and mowers have their weight far back), without a front loader, you may want front weights. I think you'll be OK, but you may want to attach and lift them first. |
| rick | thanks guys !!

| Dave | I have that same unit with a loader and I have been using a 5' bush hog with no problem at all. I am going to try and get a set of manualls for it though
