Slip Clutch
| Mike | I have a 2000D and am going to run a 4 foot bushhog,is it necessary to run a slip clutch?? The largest diameter I will be cutting will be 1" |
| wayne | I suspect you mean an overrunning coupler, also called an overrunning clutch. A slip clutch is a different item, which has an actual clutch/friction disc, often as part of a pto shaft. Whether you need an OR coupler depends on how much you value your life, not the size material you're cutting. Same thing with a ROPS. Go to the ROPS page on our website LMTCompany.com and follow the two links about ROPS...read the articles, then decide. Every Yanmar we sell has an OR coupler on it. |
| Al | An overrunning PTO clutch is around $75 but you don't need one. Unless, say, a kid runs in front, you cut the power and hit the brakes, and would like the tractor to actually stop before the mower gets around to quit spinning. |
| norm | No, assuming you have the correct shear bolt.

| Mike | I got my tractor back last weekend ( Had a ROPS) put on. And I am going to buy a overrunning PTO clutch today. Thanks for all the help...
