YM226D Trans Noise
| Rocky | I am looking at a YM226D. Nice little tractor except - it has a loud bearing/gear noise from the transmission. The seeler said he has used the tractor for 100 hours and the noise has not changed. Is this typical or is something about to grenade?? I drove the thing all over and it functions well. just makes a pretty bad noise. Thanx~ Rocky |
| norm | Good Yanmar transmissions don't make noise. It's hard to tell from here what it is. I would wonder why he didn't fix it and look elsewhere, unless the price is really right. Some things are not repairable due to parts scarcity.

| Rocky | That is good info. He claims he looked into fixing it, it looked easy enough, but never got to it. I guess I would say that too ifI was selling it..:-). I guess I will keep look looking. It is a fair price, but not a great price. It has no FEL and I will need one....That is the other cost looking forward. Thanx! |
| norm | Beware of FEL machines. Make sure the bell housing is properly braced up. there are several guys out there looking for unavailable bellhousings, broken in half due to FEL.
