YM 1700

ed lunday Wanting to add gauges to my tractor Ym 1700 and use lights also is this possible, will auto gauges work??
Al Yes to both but you'll get bored looking at them because the needles won't move much. I have a full set and the only use was from the oil-pressure one; I shut down when I saw it lowering and found a leaking oil filter. So to be of value you have to check it frequently. And the oil is the trickiest to install.
edlunday Thanks Al I will not wast the time to install

Norm I would definitely want a temp gauge on a YM1700. I do a lot of cutting in high weeds and the chaff clogs my radiator screen quite often, but I can tell when the gauge starts to rise that it's time to stop and clean the screen. A temp light coming on would be too late, especially on a 1700 with no water pump, unless one has been installed.
fatz Installing a temperature gauge and retaining the indicator light will require some thought. The sensors should be in the flow of the coolant. Adding a tee to connect both sensors at the same place will most likely keep both out of the flow.
