White 2-70 Diesel 4000 Hrs

Donald O. Doty	Is this model a Waukasha motor? Was hoping it was a Perkins. Did White tractors every have a Perkins? One coming up for sale with a very nice loader. This tractor is currently running good. I replaced a head gasket on a 1800 with a Waukasha motor and did not want to have another one, parts problems. Would a 354 Perkins from a Combine work in this tractor, clutch, bell housing. Just a thought.
oleblu	I looked over at www.tractordata.com and all it said was it was a "WHITE" engine. 283 cubic inch diesel and 265 gas. Those sure sound like the Waukasha engines. It also says that the 2-85, 2-88, 2-105, and the 2-110 have the Perkins 354.
cea	The 2-70 is a waukasha.Pretty good engines,pretty much the same as 1655
