Oliver 1855 hard starting when hot
|Vince Wray||We have sharp great running 1855 Oliver diesel tractor. When cold starts first turn every time even in winter. Fifteen minutes later tractor is warm (not over hot) and you shut it off to open gate or load a bale on the platform, she will not start. Wait 30-60 minutes, she is cold. Starts first turn? Fuel pump? Rings? Injectors?
|H Knight||I have an 1855 that did the same thing until I got the starter completely renewed. Haven't had any trouble since. Not saying that is what's wrong with yours.
My Oliver 1855 is doing the exact same thing ever since I got it overhauled. Got the starter rebuilt because I thought maybe had too much compression with the overhaul, but still wont start when hot. Wait about an hour and it starts right off. Did you figure out what was causing the trouble???
|jeremie butterfield||we have a 1975 1855 with 310 wauksha engine rebuilt that did the same thing we thought it was the starter to. But it was a spun main bearing never had the lower end rebuilt. do u have low oil pressure , ours did and then throw a rod out both side of the block. not good
