| jddoc | Have a 1850 with a hole in oil pan. i'm looking for a parts source. also wandering what a 77 oliver is worth it's a diesel but has oil in coolant and hasn't ran for awhile. thanks.

| Bubba | If the hole in the pan was caused by a tossed rod (very common), you need a junk dealer, not a parts source. If you are talking about just the pan, any sheet metal shop will fix it. The 77 in that condition is worth what the junk dealer will give you for it.

| Fern(Mi) | Sheet metal oil pan on a 1850 Oliver? Now I got to look today. 4 of the buggers used around here has me wondering what I been fixing. more up and down our road and around the corner, they do have their neighborhoods Where are you and what your plans for 1850. 1850's popular, a lot of them made, they're fairly east to find parts. Junk? If that's its end, I may be interested if freight isn't going to eat it up. E-Mail me. |
| mitchell | were are you located? and is the 1850 for sale i might have a motor to drop in it.

| hamhocks | Go to a tractor wrecking yard and buy a used pan, there has got to be more to i than the pan..ie. rods . It is kind of unusual for a perkins engine to do that but it does happen. You can get all the gaskets and engine parts from Agco but you dont want to even consider the price of an oil pan. For your 77 no problem, pull the engine drop the pan, pull the head, pull the sleeves, install new o rings on the bottom of the sleeves put it together, there again go to your Agco dealer and order some gaskets asnd put it back together,,,,make sure you have the torque settings right. perferably as service manual will help you tremendously if your dealer will let you use it. good luck PS oliver engines are real nice to work on. |
