ZAU Hydraulics

Steve I was just trying to use the remote hydraulic lines on a field cultivator for the first time. Action up & down functions, but center position does not hold the cylinder in location. Where do I look first for the problem - or am I missing something else.

Bob Virgil The position hold is built into the original cylinder, not the on tractor control system. You either have an after market cylinder with no hold or an original cylinder with proglems.
Steve Thanks for the info. Not a MM cylinder, so I'll need to find one. Now that you mention it, do seem to remember the shape of the one we had on the farm (50+ years ago) might have been different. Thanks again - Steve
Bob V I've never tried it, but wonder if you could feed existing system into an external spool valve and control cylinder with that.
Steve Cox You could be right (?) if I can't locate a cylinder I might give that a try, thanks.......
