Massey Ferguson MF240 Tractor

Josh Pearson Tractor has been sitting up for 4 Years,changed oil,filter,and deisel.Ignition Switch Bad ,by jumping solienoid on starter with jumper cables hooked to vehicle engine rotates not at a fast speed but no hit or fire noticed whats your opinion?
