clutch barely disengaging

Bill Gullberg I have a gas, Perkins, 135 with loader. When I step on the clutch, the tractor will stop, but it seems that there's still enough pressure on the gears that I can't move the gear shifter. Often I can move a little forward and pull the lifter down while moving and that works, but ofter I have to shut the tractor off if I'm in a situation where I can't move forward or back. Is there an easier place to start than splitting the thing in half?
Jeff Z. Before I replace the clutch I would get the service manual for the model tractor you have and adjust the clutch.
Bill Gullberg Jeff: Thanks, will do. Bill
Ken If you have Multi-Power the hill hold feature may be whats holding it. Try shifting the Multi-Power to the low side and see if that helps.

Ken

Bill Gullberg Yes, it does have Multi-Power. I've never taken the time to read the manual and discover what the Multi-Power lever does. I'll bet its stuck. Bill
Bill Gullberg Ken, I shifted the Multi-Power to low, and guess what, the clutch disengages and it shifts like a dream! Thanks so much for your help. I can't help but wonder, however, if that's an intended consequence of having the Multi-Power on high?
Ken Bill
The hill hold will hold the tractor from rolling backwards when the clutch is depressed going uphill(High side only). Nice feature when baling in hill ground and etc. The consequences are that you can't pull it out of gear when it does this. When it does this, shift to low and you can shift out of gear, but be on the brakes as it is going to turn you loose. Also be aware that in the low side, the tractor is completely free wheeling, no engine braking what so ever.

Lee I have a 135 massy perkins installed a new fuel fillter and cant get it primed back to start it i cant get the air out
Ken Lee

Is it a diesel? Couple things to try.
Fill the fuel filter with fuel before installation.
Loosen a fuel line at an injector, crank the engine to push the air out.

Ken
