trator losing power

Sylvia 275 massey What do I check first on the troubleshooting they just list everything . The tractor is losing power after it warms up. Then if I use the hydralics or the PTO it dies.
Sylvia Could a dirty air filter cause that much problems?

Geoff Sylvia there as definately a proceedure to follow.....you start at the beginning instead of the middle however that is all very well for someone with experience to say. Yes to answer your question about the air filter that could cause an engine to lose power however it would be like that right from start up....to sheck the air filter out just remove it wnd run the engine without it and see what happens....mind you don't try and run the engine without the filter if it is in dirty or dusty conditions. The first thing I would do is to make sure you have an adequate supply of clean fuel reaching the fuel pump.If the flow from the tank is restricted as it might be the cause of that fault is a blocked filter on the end of the fuel tank tap. You have to remove the fuel pipe from the tank tap and then unscrew the tap from the tank. If the filter is clean ...ok...if it's dirty throw it away and replace....these filters are known to come off the end of the tap and drift around in the tank so you should clean the innards of the tap as well. Assuming that bit is ok or rectified then remove the fuel filters and replace them...bleed the system and then the injectors and when you are up and running try the tractor out....Geoff
