To-20 lift question
| Richard |
Hello, Fergie lovers. I have a 20 that has some free-play in the lift/draft lever. It is not "tight". The lift works, and will lift heavy implements easily, but as far as holding implememts at certain levels, it moves sporadically. As long as you simply use UP or DOWN, it's good to go. I don't have any of the "stop" bolts to restrict movememt of the lever, and do it all by hand. When holding the lever at certain levels, you can feel the lever "jerking" upward or downward. What can be done to tighten the draft lever up? Thanks.

That lift operation is somewhat normal for a draft system. I remember on our TE-20 you would lift to a point and then back the lever down to a point where it did not lift anymore. These systems were designed more for ground engaging implements than static loads. If the lever does not stay put then shim up the friction on the lever. Maybe someone else can fill in how normal your operation is.
