Duane	looking for model and year of this massey ferguson serial number is 9A 286453 hopefully this and picture will help thanks Duane
GEEBEE	Duane, the year appears to be a 1978, unfortunately MF used the same ser. #'s on a number of the industrial models being built at the same time. Does it not say the model # on the plate you got the ser # from ?. Is it 3 or 4 cylinder ?, can you tell if it has drum brakes or wet disc's ?
Duane	Thanks for answering GEEBEE. No it does not have the model # on the serial tag nor on the r.o.p.s tag. it is a 4 cylinder diesel, will check for engine serial# and on the brakes.
Duane	still looking for model & year? My mistake this massey is only a 3 cly. diesel serial# behind injection pump 3701570-3, serial# on front cover under water pump is 37167790 under those #'s can't make out first one but there is a AA. Brakes are drum, Transmission is 3-speed w/ high&low serial# 530917. hopefully this will help somebody figure out what i've got, thanks again Duane
GEEBEE	Duane, that pretty well narrows it down to a 1978 MF 20C with the Perkins AD3 152 engine.

liz	my dad has a 1990 tractor he is looking to replace the ignition & the starter, on this tractor can you tell me which one he would need. He is 87 yrs old & cant see the part numbers. Any suggestions?
