| David Brumley | I am having trouble with the rear end when it is in gear it sounds like it needs lubrication. Someone told me that they though it used gear oil. But I can not find a fill hole. I would appriciate if anyone has an answer. Thanks in advance.

| sodbuster | You probably have a Peerless 920 series transaxel. Look on the transmission, somewhere on it will be tag or sticker with the trany info. 920's tags are on the right side. 920's do not have gear oil. It is a sealed unit lubricated with bentonite grease. The 920 does have an internal chain drive. Chain is stretched or possibly gears are stripped. Parts and manuals are available depending on how much mechanic you are. If not, cheaper to buy new trans. If tractor is used up, cheaper to buy new tractor and part out old tractor.
