| Gary Osten | I have a JD 525. When I try to turn on the blades the clutch either does not engage or engages for a brief time and then shuts off. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is or how to fix it???
|
| Charlie | check the air gap between the clutch and the magnet. I believe it should be .010 of an inch.

| Bruce | Pto circuit for F525 is slightly complicated due to all the safety features. Could be one of several things. Bad pto switch or relay. I believe both ignition and pto relays are the same. You could switch them and see if the problem is still present. Also, when the foot brake is applied, a switch mounted on the linkage drops the pto relay out. I'm assuming that when the problem occurs, you have to reset the pto switch off then back on again.
