I have had for about three decades a 18 H.P. Light Ground engaging Tractor with a 45" Mower Deck, Model 4518-05 and I bought it used. I have a repair pats manual and operators manual along with the owners manual for the vertical crankshaft air cooled Tecumseh 4 cycle motor.
I learned that Dynamark was bought out or taken over by Murray, then either bought out or taken over by Briggs & Straton.
Most places that specialize in lawn mower parts and supplies can get parts for this garden tractor. The tractor itself is in good shape and runs great but about ten years ago I had to replace the mower deck, rust. I had no problem getting a new one.
I have also over the years had to buy several QUILL assemblies for the deck and had no problems.
I use this mower hard and on occasion damaged a QUILL assembly. I turned a farmer's pasture into a beautiful lawn but would sometimes hit a rock with one of the three blades and either bend the blade or crack or break the QUILL assembly. The QUILL assembly houses the shaft and bearings that the blades are attached to.
Imade some changes to the front drag link to strengthed it. Also took a Chevy break pedal and replaced the original break pedal and I also buil a housing on the back to hold a regular size automotive battery. The engine has never given me any trouble over the years, it has always started, even in the dead of winter.
I have always had two riding mowers because I cut acres of grass. My wife used one and I used the Dynamark. So far I have used up two murrys and one craftsmen, the engines just don't seem to last any length of time anymore.
However I do need a head light assembly and a new seat. These item could have been ordered out of the parts supply place, that I normally deal with, from the year 1999 but were not available in the 2000 parts catalog. So if you are aware of any place in your quest for parts please let me know.
The Dynamark 18/45 is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best graden tractor I have everowned and it is now in top running order.
