Briggs 407777
| Mike Mulbrook | Have a mower with a Briggs 407777-0119-E1 engine that had a broken govenor gear. I replace the gear, reassemled it, adjusted the govenor, but it still races. Throttle plate is always wide open regardless of how I move the cable. Do I have a spring hooked up wrong ? Thanks Much, Mike |
| Joe | If this is a twin opposed L head eng-Did you do a static adj on gov arm/gov shaft? If eng has older style gov spring detent plate with 5 holes, start with spring in center hole, then move to l/r holes to increase/decrease max eng speed,if static adj done & spring in correct hole and still no throttle response, best thing to do is goto ebay & search item# 160368838078,this is the same cd I use for my briggs engines, gov repair, gov setup, throttle plate setup & throttle cable setups well covered in drawings & text.
