Ranch King Snow Blade mounting/missing pieces??

Kyle Kraft Hi, I'd like to introduce myself and start a discussion on my Ranch King tractor.

I have a 1986 Model 146-834-205 s/n 41-027-11867 18hp Ranch King tractor that I recently acquired. The tractor came with a snow blade, wheel weights, and a bucket full of tire chains.

The blade has 2 springs on it and a "tongue" that hooks to the blade with a large bolt and a quick pin to allow it to pivot (I thought I had pics on my flash drive to post but I was mistaken...can do later). There are no identifying marks on the blade or the tongue. I searched the MTD manual archives, Agri-Fab, and Brinley/Hardy with no luck. MTD had a model that appeared to be of the 1986 vintage but was like the one described in the only other Ranch King Snow Blade post in this forum.

So, I know that I haven't given much to go by, but who knows, maybe someone has some ideas.

I'll post the pictures later and if nobody here has any ideas then I'll simply design and build my own mounting system. Of course I'd rather see a picture of an existing one and then build from the photo.

Thanks for any help.

Here is the front bracket on the tractor. No, the bracket on the "tongue" doesn't fit inside or on the outside of the tractor bracket.

davey im not sure what exact problem your having but, if i remember right, the tongue unit slides under the tractor and hooks up to the mower pivot/lift points under the tractor frame somehow. is this what you were wondereing?
Kyle Kraft My thoughts exactly except there is one small problem. The blade is touching the front tires before the tongue is far enough back to reach the deck lift rods. Additionally, the lift rods are significantly farther apart than the bracket in the middle of the tongue.

I'm thinking that the self-engineered route is my only choice....I find it baffling that I'm the only person with this tractor/blade combo. Oh well, I've had much bigger challenges than this.

Thank you for your reply davey!

davey i had a ranch king 18 horsepower tractor some years ago. it was pretty old one and, im not sure its same model as yours but, i had the snowblower and blade to it. but, there was like a sub-frame or, a plate that you had to mount under the tractor then, the snowblower or blade mounted to that. then, you had to remove this plate in order to mount/use the mower deck. from what you are describing to me, either you have the wrong blade for tractor or, you are missing that plate thingy lol. as for fabrication, if i had more pics of underside and such mabye i could help you out more. cos, anythings possible if you put your mind to it.
