Deere 335 coughing and sputtering intermittently
| rcans2 | I have a John Deere lawn tractor (model 335) 20 hp Kawasaki engine that intermittently starts coughing and sputtering. This mainly happens when under load and more so in the first minutes after starting to mow but happens at other times. I changed gas line filter but that didn't help. I have run out of gas and put new gas in, but problems still occurs. Help. Suggestions on what I need to do would be appreciated |
| Don | You may just have trash in the tank....my tractor was doing that same thing under a load and if i idle it down it would run......i guess all the trash is out of it now cause it doesnt happen anymore......you mught want to drain and clean out your fuel tank......and fill with fresh fuel.....filling your tank from a fuel can can be a lot of the trouble, as they tend to accumulate trash in them....after cleaning tank maybe put a screen of some sort in your can or in the tank opening......let us know how it turns out....Don

| Dennis | I have a sears SS12 with a similar problem but I know my gas and fuel system are clean, it is a recent tear down. I also seem to be running a little rich. Do you have any ideas?? |
