Dumb Question On Greasing Of Deck Spindles

Steve I have a fairly new JD LA-175 that has greasable deck spindles (grease zerks). I was happy to see this when I bought it because the spindle bearings really take a beating and seem to be the first things to wear out. Since I am somewhat obsessive-compulsive, I try to keep all of my equipment in new working order, so I usually perform maintenance on a tighter schedule than what the manuals recommend. As such, I was wondering if it is possible to "overgrease" the deck spindles, and if so, how would I know and could this cause damage? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
john grease them about every 20 hours or about every third time you use it remember not over three pumor four pumps with this routine
