sears onan 16hp vs. cub cadet 149 with 14hp kohler

william moseley Help! Anyone who knows...I have found a IH cub cadet 149 with a 14hp big block kohler engine with a clevis hitch that runs well...as well as a Sears 16hp Onan engine tractor with a 3 point hitch and 'tractor tires' and weights...Both run really well...I plan to use it to cut grass, do light bushhogging, till up a garden, move some dirt around and scrape and smooth a dirt/gravel drive. Which is a better choice for the tasks mentioned...the Cub or the Sears?...the Cub is $600 and the Sear with a plow is $800....Thanks for the help....Dan
bontai Joe The Cub!!!! The model 149 is considered one of the best of the old IH Cub Cadets, plus you can get parts for the Kohler easier, and cheaper than the Onan in the Sears. And if that Sear's 3 point hitch is original to the tractor, odds are it's the old Sears set up that is not easily compatible with standard cat. "0" attachments, but only with Sears stuff.
richard stivers If you don't take the cub I would be interested if it's not too far from Nebraska. let me know where it is if you don't take it . Thank you Rich.
