Briggs and Stratton Question
| rifraf | it's a 16 hp opposed twin with three wires red, white, black Question is what colour is ignition, alt, ground?
|
| Joe | Your best bet is to get yourself a briggs interactive cd service manual, either from local dealer, briggs website or ebay, briggs used 3 different charging systems & 2 different ign systems, you need manual to id charging & ign systems, colors varied on alt depending on type of system,1 system charge only, other 2 either dual or tri alt, depending on type of system from colors you you gave, could go either way(dual/tri),1 system use's a patch cord between eng wiring & tractor harness, with diodes in same for lights & battery, other only has 1 diode(dc),don't know if your talking about wire colors in eng harness or patch cord, ign kill lead may/may not be included in same connector for eng wiring, both systems had an ext terminal on eng for kill lead to connect to tractor wiring harness.

| Frank DiMeo | how do i adjust the carberator on a Briggs & Stratton tractor engine-model number 287707, type number 1255-E3..Ican not keep it running
|
| Pat | I am looking for the carberator linkage diagram for a Bradford tiller Model 53493800 with a B&s 5 Hp Type 0159-02 eng serial # 1320292 Thank for the help |
| Jerry | I have this same model tiller. There were very few problems until a couple years ago. I did get it going once this year after working on the carburetor, but now it does nothing. I think the carburetor needs an overhaul. I'll try to get a photo of the linkage to send. My father bought it new at W.T. Grant's in the late 1960's or early 70's. You're the only other person I've heard of who owns this model. |
