Craftsman with Kohler 22.5 VTwin Stalls under load

Ken	I have been having trouble with my Craftsman 917250560 which has a Kohler CV22S Vtwin engine. The engine runs fine, however, when the blades are engaged it will run OK for a minute or two and then begin stalling and backfiring. If I turn off the blades it runs like a champ again and as soon as I turn on the blades it stalls again. I have installed new plugs, air filter, fuel filter and changed the oil since the problem began in an effort to correct it but no luck. It does need a new battery too but that shouldn't cause this problem??
rcbe	loosen the fuel tank cap and try the engine under load again - it might be the cap's vent stopped up. didja ck the new plugs gap with a good gage? Fuel filter arrows installed the right way ? Fuel system completely drained and new fuel put in? Beyond that, get ready to pull carb and THOROUGHLY clean it. May have some trash in the load circuit.

Joe	Try replaceing battery,if battery has 1 or more weak/bad cells it will DRINK most of the charging current from alt,when you engage elect clutch,alt on eng probably can't put out enough current to charge a bad battery & power clutch,the cv22 eng has a gas shutoff sol on carb bowl,as voltage drops on battery with clutch on sol is probably dropping out,shutting off gas to main jet in carb,when you shut off mower,voltage at battery rises,sol re-energizes & allows gas into main jet of carb
