huskee lawn mower
|pam||I have a 20hp huskee riding mower. It will not go very fast it just barely moves. We replaced the drive belt and it is still doing the same thing.Hope someone can help. Thanks pam
|rcbe||Pam, there are an awful lot of 20 HP Huskee lawn tractors out there. Please give model, year, transmission type and any other particulars - such as how long this problem has been, etc.
It's very hard for us out here in LaLa Land to fill in the details by ourselves :) We need all the clues we can get.
|pam||the year of the tractor is 2000.The model is 13au607h131.It has a automatic transmission.Last year when we stored it for winter it was doing fine.Got it out this year and it just crawls.Belt was bad so we put a new one on.That didn't help.It still goes very slow when you push on gas.Hope this helps you. Thanks pam
|rcbe||From that model number, the tractor was made by MTD and has a variable speed transmission, not a hydro.
VST's (variable speed transmissions) usually have 2 matched belts and it is mandatory that they be procured from the mfgr. to assure proper operation. Installation is also "picky" and must be done per the mfgr's instructions.
Also check unit to make sure you don't have a dragging park brake that got frozen up while wintering...
|rcbe||see my reply to this in main thread...
