| Phil | I have a L3450 4 wheel drive with Glide Shift transmisssion and front mounted snow blower. On the pto sector lever I have a choice of either 540 or 1000 rpm. Which one do I use ?? The blower is driven by a shaft that originates under the tranny.

| Al | The higher RPM will give you the most throwing power. I would keep it there.

| Rick | Most attachments use the 540 setting. To know which to use, check on the snow blower, it should tell you the pto rpm. If you use the 1000 rpm and it uses the 540, damage could occur. 540 pto rpm is the age old U.S. standard. |
| RUT | FWIW, I've been running my Ford 715 at 1000 rpm for 20+ years now and it's still going strong. To be honest, it's pretty anemic at 540, so I don't have much choice.
