L260 clutch problem
| Karl | Had to replaced clutch, pressure plate, & release bearing. All shot and prior to, release hub spun 180 on tube after bearing went. After replacing, clutch works but every so often, release hub turns 180 so fork will not engage. Any suggestions on why or a fix? Kinda like this little tractor.

| Tom | As a certified truck tech, i'm wondering what the item is your calling a release hub and tube? The only thing I can think of is the hub must be the release bearing and the tube must be the release bearing slide mount on the tranny. If this is correct, the only way I know your problem could happen is your not getting the proper adjustment on the pedal clearance, giving too much slop letting the bearing fall out of its mount on the release fork. Also not getting the release bearing locked on the fork. |
| Karl | Thanks Tom, The bearing is press fit on the hub, which slides on the tube when peddal is pressed pushing the fork into the hub, thus the bearing into the pressure plate. I suspect the tube is bent from previous failure as hub is not sliding freely, returning to position after peddal is released, screwing up adjustment. Just one thought. |
