tractor not starting
| phil lang | I have a TG 1860 kubota lawn tractor, when it is hot out side 90-100f and i use it for about an hour and shut it off it will not start, its like the battery is dead, i put a trickle charger on it and it starts or let it sit for about an hour and most of the time it will start, everything on the engine is ok so i think it might be a safty swich, has any one had this problem before thanks

| farmm | Sounds like it is not charging, alternator or regulator problem, or could be just a weak battery (most likely), have the battery checked to eliminate that. And check all battery cables especially the ground connections to the block.
| phil lang | alternator has been check many times over the past year and it is good , battery is new, second one this year. all cables are good including the ground. now that the temp is in the 80's i have mowed for hours with no problem, it will start every time.
| farmm | Just a guess, maybe it is overheating a bit in hot weather and then becomes harder to turn over because of pistons expanding, clean radiator screen/radiator and so forth. Clean oil etc will help.
| JON | Just a thought; the engine oil your using may not be good enough for higher temps. If so it will break down and cause binding untill it cools off. |
