Kubota replacement engine
| Joe ONeill | Has anyone on this forum bought the D902 engine from the Surplus Center? The d902 in my BX24 is shot and I am wondering if this could be used as a replacement. It looks very close and I figured I could swap over the parts off the old engine that were a litte off?

| farmm | Don't know but should be possible, would the old flywheel or in your case/the drive hook up without modification, that would be the only question, some stationary engines may have had different flywheel/ crankshaft ends. Just something to check first before you buy. Otherwise I would think everything would work. Those engines are priced right, keep us posted.

| farmm | I looked it up here are the flywheel specs * Bell Housing N/A * Flywheel Size 214mm O.D. Mount 5 bolt pattern Bolt Circle 130mm Pilot Diameter 106mm Bolt Circle Tapped M8-1.25 * Size 18-1/2" x 16-1/2" x 21-1/2" * Shpg. 270 lbs. |
| Joe ONeill | The flywheel does appear to be different but I should be able to take to take the one off of my old motor. All the research I have done indicates to me that kubota industrial engine does not talk to their tractor division. Trying to track down engine info is near impossible and interchangeability is sketchy at best

| farmm | Are you going to proceed and buy it/try it??
|
| Joe ONeill | Yes, the only problem I can determine is the idle speeds are different. That should only require an idle adjustment. I was told the BX24 idles at 3200rpm?
