TG1860-no diesel from fuel tank???

Don Young My mother-in-law has a TG1860. It died because the primary filter (under the fender) was plugged. I changed it.
Tried to bleed the lines by removing the line after the under hood filter and turning the key on.. Fuel pump runs.. No fuel.. So I removed the line from the primary filter and sucked on it..
(UGH!! Diesel tasts like crap. :(( )
No fuel out of the tank that way either..
(Pumps sucks on finger at open line under fender.)
I sealed around the fill cap and blew into the tank as hard as I could. No diesl our of the open hose going to the primary filter.
Is there another filter or something in the tank??? HELP!! Desperate---the grass is growing and there is a lot of it.
Don

Smokin Dog Not sure of your machine, but I had one do
the same thing. It turned out to be black
muck in the bottom of the tank. It was flowing
into the nipple at the bottom of the tank where
the fuel line connected, had it blocked really
good, I could blow it with air and a little
fuel would come out, but stop back up as soon
as a tea spoon of fuel dripped out. The black
muck I was told was a form of algie, I'm not
sure of that. I know I had to clean out the
fuel tank and lines to make it run. Could be
you may have about the same thing going on.

Don Young Thanks for the reply Smokin Dog.. That is my suspision too. I'll take my compressor up there
so I can put a LITTLE more pressure on it and see
if I can get it to blow bubbles. Don't see how that shoyld hurt anythin... Don

Smokin Dog Watch out for a plugged fuel cap vent, and too
much air may blow a seal on the fuel gauge
sending unit. When I did the air thing I removed
the cap and put some shop towels over the fuel
cap area to stop the fuel from blowing all over.
If the cap is on you may swell the tank and
cause leaks at the seams.

Don Young Thanks!! I did intend to take the cap off first.
Don't think it has a fuel gauge. I'll have to look. Today is the day. I'll let you know what I find. I knew a guy here in dallas that had a motor home. He put a small dent in the side of the aluminum fuel tank with a post. He decided he would pop it out with his compressor.. Next time I saw him he was in a wheel chair with casts on both legs. Dern near killed him. Took him a long time to get well.

Don Young IT'S FIXED!!! Fixed it yesterday. I ended up taking the fuel tank off since I found that only 4 bolts held it on. I cleaned off the outside so some light would shine through and then dropped a tiny security camera in there to verify if there was a screen or not on the output tube. There isn't one. The tank was quite clean, Very little trash. I focused the camera on the end of the tube in the tank so my wife and mother-in-law could watch and blew it out with the compressor. They said a big blobb blew out. I washed that and everything else down to where I could get it out. As you mentioned the blobb DID have the same feel and texture of algie or moss. Getting the tank back on was a real pain. It is plastic and evidently has warped a little so the two rear bolt holes no longert match. Took 3 of us (me, my wife, and mo-in-law) to get the last bold in. Took the gas line loose at the engine and turned key to on, did that a second time and the lines were bled.. My wife ran it for about 3 hours yesterday and mo-in-law ran it a lot today... Runs like a top!!! THANKS!!! Don
SmokinDog Good deal !! glad you had some luck.
