| John H. | Please help. Starts fine and runs for about an hour and abruptly dies. It will not restart for at least an hour and the same thing happens. changed gas filter, added fresh gas,plug. Any ideas?

| Dave | John - I'd check the fuel line to make sure there are no splits, cracks, or any clogging. Also, next time it stalls, see if loosening the fuel cap enables you to start the engine. If so, the vent on the fuel cap could be plugged, indicating time for a new cap. When you try to restart, and it won't restart, pull the plug. If it's wet with fuel, that's an indication of no spark. Could be a bad coil. Sometimes when they get weak and things heat up, they develop too much resistance and the current to the plug is halted. If it's dry, that's an indication of fuel starvation. One other thing. When you changed the fuel filter, did you use a JD one, or did you pick up one at an auto parts store? Some of the automotive filters create vapor lock in the fuel line. Also, make sure it's installed for flow in the proper direction. - Dave
