4010 Steering Tie Rods Hitting Axle
| Phil | Greetings. On my 4010D, when the wheel are turned tight to either direction, the tie rods hit the wide front axle. It was suggested by some that I may have swapped the steering arms (right and left) or the knee assembly that connects to the tie rods were twisted. I've spent several hours taking things apart and changing the position/adjustment on the tie rods, swapping the arms, etc and results are the same. Is there, within the steering valve or steering motor, any stops that perhaps are out of adjustment? I ask because both the valve and the motor were removed and rebuilt. It steers beautifully...best power steering ever....except that it appears to be turning a tad too far both directions. Thank you for any suggestions. |
