John Deere Sabre Transmission

jaymare I have a Sabre 1438HS purchased new in 2000 with approx 250 hours of residential use. My plan was to change the transmission fluid, however I am unable to find a drain or fill plug. The owners manual has no instructions on how or when or if I need to change fluid. I called the dealer and all they would tell me is to bring it in and they will look at it. I don't think so. I would appreciate any info anyone could provide. Thanks.
Nate Cochran I am a JD mechanic and I can help answer your question. The Sabre tractor series has a non-serviceable transmission. The transmission cannot be repaired or serviced; that's why there's no fill/check plug. If there's ever an oil leak or any other problem, you'll simply neen to replace the entire transmission. No service parts are available for it. Hope I was able to help.
