John deere 425 water in oil ? Please Help

Mark I put the heads and intake back on and was getting ready to fire it up when i added water to the radiator and bingo water started coming out the front of the motor down below i guess the water pump. My Question how does the water got down in there? I sent some pics Thanks Mark
