JD400 backhoe

Ed Whidden I purchased a 1970? jd400 backhoe that runs fine but won't pull itself. How is the best way to find out if it is a clutch disc or reverser that is bad. and after reading about removing the reverser control, how are the oil tubes attached inside? I see they are just orings to the reverser. If I remove the reverser control do I stand a chance of an oil tube coming loose inside?
John Heine Put guage on reverser pressure to see if you have any pressure. If you have no pressure trans pump maybe not turning if pressure and not moving clutch pack. Many times the splines worn of input shaft. You can take reverser control off I doubt steel tube is broken.
