John Deere Tractor w/Mower stall when clutch is released.
|Jodi||I have a John Deere tractor with a mower deck. I can start it without a problem but when I try to let up on the clutch or engage the mower deck it stalls. I've checked the plugs, air filter, oil levels, etc. Sometimes it will even run and the mower deck will work for a while and then it starts to sputter. As soon as I push in the clutch the engine seems fine but when I try to let the clutch out - same thing.
|Dave||Jodi - Can you post back which model you have? Aside from that, it could possibly be a defective safety switch. There should be a safety switch under the seat. If it's not working properly, it could kill the engine when trying to engage the clutch. - Dave
