noise in clutch

sal What would make a low grrrrrr noise when you let off the clutch either in nautral or in gear. When you push the clutch in it stops. Would it be a bearing or some gear not engaging fully?
Jim Loveridge It could be the pilot shaft bearing in the transmission.
