Ford 9N with no spark to the coil- 12V system
| Greg | The 9N has been converted to 12 volt. I can't get any spark to the coil(12v). I have replaced the ignition switch, dash resistor, plugs, coil, points, condensor, distributor cap. When I run a wire from the ignition to the coil w/o going through a resistor the tractor fires right up. When through a resistor...nothing. Obvioulsy without a resitor the coil burns up. Could this be a distributor problem????

| Larry | Check and make sure all your conections are clean at the terminals where that resistor is. Maybe the wire that runs to the coil is bad. You say when you jump the resistor and go to the coil with a new wire it has power.

Check for an additional inline ballast resistor. |
| Bob G | if it works good without the resistor, and not with it, JUST maybe it might be aa bad resistor. You think?
