Loose Steering Wheel
| Don V | We recently bought a piece of property that the previous owner threw in an 8n tractor and brush hog because it has been untouched in 5+ years and is serverly overgrown. While clearing the overgrowth, the steering broke loose and only turns right. When I turn it left, the wheel spins freely approx. three full turns and the steering wheel rises out of the column about 2" and then stops. When I turn it back to the right, it screws back in, lowers back into the column, and then turns right. I bought a shop manuel for it, but that only shows the parts without any trouble shooting help |
| Bob G | Depending on the year of your tractor there are different gear boxes. At the least you will need a total rebuild. Might be easier to find a used one. migdht check at just 8ns. do a google search for used ford 8n parts. might want to check out john smiths 8ns site to determine what year you have. Good luck Keep us posted! |
