Original paint color
| Roger-Pierre Girard | Hi, I am restoring my tractor, serial number # 9N 220421,transmission housing #D176, axle serial # 2N 4015 A2 and 6-25-46,engine head serial # 9N 6050 i am surprised that, under the grey paint that the previous owner had sprayed, i am finding red paint. ! under the dirt and oil on the engine cover, the engine head bolts and even the bolts that holds the rear fender around the axle are all red..... I tought the original color of the 2N were grey... I need information please |
| Jim Loveridge | Roger-Pierre, I'm looking at some pictures I printed out from John Smiths Tractor site. There is a picture of a 9N-2N pre '44 tractor that is all grey. Then there is another picture of a '44 2N that is red. The "I" beam on the greay one looks like an "I" beam where the '44 "I" beam is more of a solid looking cast. Your SN 220421 makes it a '46 so it would have been red as I see it. Hope this helped.

| Bob G | The red started on the 8ns but you see pictures of 2ns and 9ns with the Red belly. Some people like the red better.
