off set ford

john w crews i know this is for us 9n 2n 8n naa tractor guys, but i have a question about a different ford tractor. my dad asked me today if i had heard of an off set ford [ like a farmall 130 or 140] ? he said he remembered seeing one when he was a teenager but couldn't remember the name. said it may have been a Dextra. ring a bell to anyone out there?
Larry I've never seen or heard of one but it could be they made one. I've seen some strange tractors that were made for special perposes. I like those orchard tractors some companys made with the low frame and big fenders.
Larry Do a google search and there is a lot of info on the Fordson Dextra. They were made in England. I didn't see any info on an offset one but there was a lot of hits I didn't read.
Jim Loveridge I have a chart put out by New Holland that showes pictures of Ford or New Holland tractors through the years. There is a picture of a Ford 501 (1957-1961) that has an offset front axle. Could that be what your dad remembers?
