is that how they stamped it it 1952?

Jim Loveridge Sal, the seriel number location is located on the left side of the engine block, just below the head and behind the oil filter. Is that where your photo is taken from? '52 serial numbers ran from 8N442035 to 8N524076. If you do a search on 'old ford tractors' It will list John Smiths site. Go there and click on 'history' I think it is. Lots of great info.
Paul That doesn't look like an orginal serial number to me...Where did you get that from?
sal After doing some research, I am positive that this is how they stamped it back in June 2,1952.

lha The serial # on most 9,2,&8n's were very crudely put on I guess they put new guys on the number stamping.I cleaned mine with a wire wheel and still had to trace it with a paper and pencil.---lha
