1947 9n wont start
| dave | I purchased a 1947 9n off a fella through a friend who said it ran fine before the starter went out i got it home oil looked good every thing ok i got a starter put it in it rolls over fine he had converted it to 12 volt but it had no spark i went to store and bought carb rebuild kit plug wires points condenser new ford 9n key switch replaced old wire put it all back together and now i have spark and it rolls over great but wont run if i shoot starting fluid to it it will fire but wont run any suggestions

| Bob G | Since it will fire with starting fluid, I would check for fuel flow THRU the carb. remove bottom plug on carb and open the fuel valve. I think it should run a pint in 2-3 minutes. If not check all three filters and line and carb for problems. Also the spark should be nice and blue and be aable to jump at lest 3/16" Sometime you will have a weark spark and will not start or run. |
