1946 2N Knocking noise in lift
| H .R Fields | Tractor will lift 6' disc with no problem. When in UP position, lift has knocking noise. Where do I start checking for cause of knocking?
|
| Bob G | Usually that is the pump, cams/pistons.The louder the knock, the more wear your pump has on it. It's generally not an immediate pressing problem. If the knock is faint you can probably put off repairs for quite a while. If it's knocking loudly you should buy a pump repair kit and do a rebuild before it quits all together. The above information is from John Smiths 8Ns site. Mine got better when I went back to 90 wt gear oil. Good luck |
| H R Fields | Thanks for info, will try 90 wt
