Gasoline
| RVW | Hey guys, I don't know for sure which engine I have in my 8N. The engine was rebuilt about 8 to 10 years ago and it has fewer than 20 actual operating hours. I have replaced the autolite 216 plugs with the autolite 437 on a recomendation from two or three rebuilders I have read online. I don't know the differance in the plugs. Would like input on that subject. Thanks. Also since the engine was rebuit by a supposed good Ford Tractor mechanic, I would like to know what gas should I burn? Regular unleaded plain or with a lead additive. If a good mechanic rebuilt her do you think he would have instlled the proper valve guides and should I even be worried. Thanks RVW |
| Larry | Most people are using the Autolite 437 from what I've read. I guess it seemes to work the best. Regular unleaded is fine and you don't need any additives. If you want to put some in you can but it is actually a waste of money from all I have read. If your tractor is has the origonal motor, I'd bet it does, then they only used one motor. Get a manual for it and do a google search on 8N Ford Tractor. You will find so much it will take you a while to read it all.

| Bob G | The 437 plugs are hotter plug.

| RVW | Thanks for the comments. I will folllow up on your suggestions. Bob |
| Bob G | The concern about gasoline was over burning the valve seats. Every thing I have read says not to worry about them with unleaded gasoline.
