Just got this 1951 8N for $2500 and it was restored (so I was told) two years ago. I came with a 5' brush hog and ran great till the balast resistor opened. I bypassed that to finish what I was doing and polished the points with my fingernail file and cut grass for another hour. I don't like the wiring done as part of the restore and the headlight don't have a switch nore are there any tail lights present. But I think I still got a good deal. Glad to of found this forum...

| Bob G | Welcome aboard! Nice looking machine. If it has a resistor it must be converted to 12 volts. Don't run it too long with the resistor bypass or you will burn out the coil. Enjoy your machine!! Bob |
| Larry | Nice looking tractor. Get a manual and rewire it. Not a big job. I did mine and it made a vast improvement. Make sure all over your connections are clean and tight. Mine is still 6 volt.

| harold russi | Got the FO-4 shop manual and will collect the parts needed and travel back down to the tractor and perform those repairs. I live in Nebraska but own land in Texas that needs to be kept cut so the tractor will stay there.
