Stalls after warm...

dean Hello I have a 8n that starts fine but after about a half hour it started to run sluggish then stalled. It started back up but I had to use the choke on a warm engine. After it starts back up it idles fine but about any load and it stalls.
I waited several hours to see what it would do after it cooled down and it still wants to stall.
Thanks for all advise.
Dean

Bob G My 8n was doing the same thing last week. I pulled the line going to the carb and fuel only trickled out. It should run steady. I removed sediment bowl from tank and the intake tube was plugged. the screen above the bowl was missing and the threads where the fuel line connects were bad so ordered a new assy. Got to get it installed today.

If fuel is getting to the carb ok, there is also a filter in the fitting where the fuel goes into the carb. just remove elbow and there is a screen on the end of it, or should be i should say. If all filters are ok might be a sticking float needle not allowing enougdh fuel into the carb.
let us know what you find
Good Luck

larrh7 I sure am not an expert but read an article a few days ago by this guy wrote who is pretty smart when it comes to old 8n tractors. He said that 90% of the time when they start to act up or quit all together when the tractor warms up it is a coil problem. This guys said when they are cold they are ok but when they get weak they don't work when warm. Just my 2 cents for what it is worth.
Bob G You are right about the coil, but in this case he says that he let it cool back down and it runs the same. Still could be an ignition problem tho. Hope he finds the problem and lets us know.
