Three point height

Pablo Guess no one knows how to get the 3 pt to raise higher...Thanks anyway...
Bob G Do agoogle search for smith's 8n. you will find a good site. look under Maintence and repairs. there is agood section that covers the hyd system includes one that covers your problem.
Good Luck

Jim Loveridge Pablo, I think you are wanting someone to tell you how to adjust the hight of the 3 point. But what Bob is trying to say, is there is no adjustment. If it isn't lifting all the way, something is wrong and needs repairing. It could be as simple as low fluid level.
Pablo I will check out the website but it might just be me. I am use to my other tractor....
Bob G When you check out the site you will find a part that wears that might be your problem.
Good luck

Bob Sounds like my Ford 640. Very little lift the first 2/3 of height adjusting lever travel. The maximum lift has been a little lower this fall than last fall when I bought the tired old beast. Yesterday the new post hole digger would not lift high enough to get the auger tip off the ground. I removed part of the guide/guard on the lift level and sliped the arm out and just past the factory 'stop'. The auger lift jumped up another foot.. I was able to use the auger to drill my post holes. I suspect the piston bore or rings are bad, But the spot on the piston that I can reach now is not worn?? Next month I will likely be rebuilding the cylinder and or bore..
