Ron Murray	Above the starter there are two sets of numbers 961-5 40811 I removed some of the paint and it is Red underneath. I tried to download some more pictures but could not get it done from home.
Ron Murray	It has a diamond in front of the number 40811 and a diamond after the number. The 961-5 seems to have something to do with the transmission.
Ron Murray	Here is what it looks like. #9 High Clearence Crop Top. #6 5 Speed #1 57-62 #-5 Factory wide front end 1958 Question is 801 or 901 D8 OR D9 or what. So close, thanks for all your help.
Ron Murray	Looks like its not a 901 no power steering. This is the same style front end on the 701 and 901. FRUSTRATING!!!!
BoB G	Sounds like you just about got it nailed. the frame i am seeing may be what makes it a High clearance row crop model. it sounds like pwoer steering was an option on the 01 series. At least you know the year now. Good luck
